Skillshare UX curriculum
Challenge
Launch Mavericks, a beta online school centered around project-based community learning for product design
Solution
Created a landing page, student handbook, and Product Design curriculum with 30 UX/UI project briefs
Result
A small but active group of students created projects. While it was not enough to sustain the school, the post-mortem will help Skillshare launch future iterations.
Product design briefs
When I joined this project as a freelancer, the founder and CEO of Skillshare knew what he wanted Mavericks to accomplish. The “how” was a little less clear. Along with a handful of advisors, I worked with him to determine the program structure, graduation requirements, and projects themselves.
The Product Design curriculum included four modules: Visual Design Basics, UX / Interaction Design, UI / Product Design, and Career Development. Each module contained increasingly challenging projects that culminated in a capstone incorporating all previous skills. See the full curriculum I wrote.

Weekly email updates
I sent Mavericks students weekly emails with program updates, project spotlights, and CTAs to participate in the curriculum.
